About this course

Friendly Competition by Design
Plan a battle-royale-style game that's all fun and no harm: paint, dodgeball, and tag instead of anything scary. You'll write the rules of good sportsmanship right into the design.
Setting Up the 3D Arena
Use Three.js to build a bright, playful arena with a floor, walls, and obstacles to hide behind. You'll learn scene, camera, and renderer basics.
Your Player and a Third-Person Camera
Add a cheerful character with the camera floating behind their shoulder so you can see all around. You'll get smooth, game-feel camera movement.
Running, Jumping, and Dodging
Build a third-person controller — run anywhere, hop over things, and quick-dodge sideways. Dodging is the heart of this no-harm game.
Throwing Paint Splats
Let players toss arcing paint balloons that splat harmlessly on walls and players. Big colorful splats, zero scariness — pure cartoon fun.
Getting Splatted = Tagged Out
When a paint splat or dodgeball tags a player, they playfully turn into a floating, cheering ghost spectator — never 'killed', just out for the round.
The Shrinking Safe Zone
Add a glowing ring that slowly shrinks, gently nudging everyone toward the middle for an exciting finale. You'll show a friendly countdown.
Adding Bot Players
Fill the arena with computer-controlled bots that wander, throw, and dodge so there's always a lively game. You'll make them fair, not unbeatable.
Picking Up Power-Ups
Sprinkle fun pickups around the arena — a speed boost, a bigger splat, a temporary shield. Power-ups make every match different and exciting.
Last One Standing Wins
Track who's still in and crown the final player with a big confetti Victory screen. Everyone who got out cheers them on.
Play Again and Polish
Add a lobby, a round timer, sound effects, and a rematch button. Then host a friendly tournament with classmates or family.
