AICS vs Follow Up Boss: who answers when you are at a showing?

Follow Up Boss is the CRM many top teams swear by. It routes leads and reminds you to follow up. It does not answer the call when you are busy. Here is the honest comparison.

Quick answer: Follow Up Boss costs US$69 per user per month (Grow), plus US$39 per user for calling, or US$499/month for 10 users on Pro. Its AI writes summaries and suggested messages and ranks your leads, but it has no AI voice that answers inbound calls. AI Canadian Solutions answers every call and website chat 24/7, books appointments into your calendar and includes the CRM, from C$99/month with 400 phone minutes.

The short version

Follow Up Boss is the better team CRM. AICS answers the phone.

If you run a team with many lead sources and need advanced routing, lead ponds, a dialer and hundreds of integrations, Follow Up Boss is excellent and hard to replace. If you are an agent or small team losing calls while you are at showings, AI Canadian Solutions answers those calls, asks buyer and seller questions, books the appointment and follows up, with a CRM included, for less than one Follow Up Boss seat with calling. Plenty of agents could use both.

Sign and listing calls answered

When you are at a showing or driving, the AI answers, asks your questions and books the appointment or warm-transfers the caller.

Buyers and sellers sorted

Timeline, area, budget, pre-approval and home to sell, asked naturally and saved to the lead.

A website that brings in leads

A website with 14 Canadian calculators, including mortgage, land transfer tax and affordability, plus AI chat in 18 languages.

AICS prices are our published Real Estate plans: Realtor AI Receptionist Pro C$99/month with 400 phone minutes, and Realtor AI Intake Elite C$499/month with 900 minutes (one-time setup C$950, 3-month minimum), with a 15% buffer before overages. Follow Up Boss prices are from followupboss.com/pricing, monthly billing in US dollars: Grow US$69 per user plus Calling US$39 per user (annual billing is about 16% less). Teams of five or more may pay less on Pro at US$499/month for 10 users with calling. The AI receptionist add-on uses Smith.ai’s published AI Receptionist prices, billed per call, as an example. What happens when a buyer calls about your listing

With Follow Up Boss alone, the call rings your phone while you are with a client, and the lead waits for a callback. With AICS answering:

  1. The AI answers in your name or your brokerage’s. On the first ring, day or night, with your greeting.
  2. It works out who is calling. Buyer, seller, renter, past client or another agent. Known callers are recognised by their number.
  3. It asks your questions. Timeline, area, budget, pre-approval and whether they have a home to sell.
  4. It books the appointment, or transfers the call. It offers open times from your calendar, or warm-transfers a hot lead to you when your rules say so. After hours, it takes a message.
  5. The client gets an invitation. A calendar invitation by email, with your buffers and minimum notice respected.
  6. Follow-up starts on its own. The recording, transcript and summary are saved to the lead in the CRM, and your text and email drip begins.

Which one is right for your business?

Both are good products. They are built for different firms.

Choose AI Canadian Solutions if…

  • You are an agent or small team and miss calls while at showings.
  • You want inbound calls answered and booked, not just texted back later.
  • You want a CRM, website, chat and Canadian calculators for one price in Canadian dollars.
  • You want AI calls to past clients who opted in, for check-ins and referrals.
  • You want your client records stored in Canada.

Follow Up Boss may suit you better if…

  • You run a larger team with many lead sources and need advanced routing and ponds.
  • Your agents make lots of outbound calls and need a dialer.
  • You rely on integrations with US lead providers and IDX websites.
  • You want month-to-month with no contract and a free trial.
  • You already have someone answering your phone.

Switching from Follow Up Boss

You can keep Follow Up Boss and add AICS as your receptionist, or move your contacts across.

  1. Book a walkthrough. Bring the questions you ask buyers and sellers and how you want hot leads handled.
  2. We set up your AI receptionist. Your greeting, questions, transfer rules, hours and calendar.
  3. Bring your contacts if you are moving. Export your contacts from Follow Up Boss and we help you import them, so past clients are recognised when they call.
  4. Test it yourself. Call as a buyer about a listing, a seller wanting a valuation chat and a past client.
  5. Point your number at it. Forward your current number, or let us move it from Bell, Rogers or another provider for you (usually 1 to 3 weeks; your current service keeps working until the move).

Frequently asked questions

Does Follow Up Boss have an AI receptionist?
No. Follow Up Boss includes AI smart summaries, suggested messages, suggested tasks and lead prioritization, but no AI voice agent that answers inbound calls. Agents connect third-party tools for that.
How much does Follow Up Boss cost?
Grow is US$69 per user per month (US$58 billed yearly), and Calling adds US$39 per user. Pro is US$499 a month for 10 users with calling included, and Platform is US$1,000 a month for 30 users.
Is AICS cheaper than Follow Up Boss?
For a solo agent, yes: AICS Realtor AI Receptionist Pro is C$99 a month with 400 AI phone minutes and a CRM, while one Follow Up Boss Grow seat with calling is US$108 a month. For bigger teams that need advanced routing and a dialer, Follow Up Boss Pro can be better value.
Can AICS show MLS or CREA listings?
Not today. AICS does not include an IDX or CREA listing feed. Keep your IDX website for listings, and use AICS for calls, chat, booking and follow-up.
Is AI calling legal for realtors in Canada?
Answering inbound calls with AI is like using an answering service. For outbound calls, only contact people who have consented, honour do-not-call requests and identify yourself. AICS only calls opted-in contacts and handles STOP replies on text.
Does AICS speak French on the phone?
The AICS phone receptionist speaks English today. The website chat answers in 18 languages, including French.
